Kane-BrewingOne of the more popular IPAs we have on tap is Kane Brewing Company’s Head High. The brewery is just down the road from our location and there are a lot of local fans in the area. However, it has received some great reviews outside of the Garden State as well and is growing in popularity.

About the Brewer

Kane Brewing Company was started in 2011 in Ocean Township, NJ and focuses on brewing American-style and Belgian influenced ales. Their lineup can only be found in restaurants and bars in New Jersey but you can purchase growlers, bottles, and sometimes cans at their brewery. They also give tours regularly if you’d like to learn more about their brewing process and history.

About The Beer

Head High pours an orange body with about an inch tall head. The aroma emits a wide variety of tropical scents such as melons, pineapples, mangos, oranges, and grapefruits. Due to the fact that it’s an IPA, there is a strong bitterness to it. It scores an 80/100 in IBU (International Bitterness Units) however, the tropical flavors do add a crisp flavor of citrus to each sip as well.

Would you like this beer?

Anyone that enjoys IPAs would most likely enjoy this beer. While some IPAs try too hard to have a strong, bitter, hop-flavor – Head High has the bitter taste that most IPA lovers enjoy but also has a sweet element to it’s taste to go along with the bitterness. If you are not a fan of bitter beers then you probably won’t enjoy this type of beer. However, if you’re a hop-head, then this might be one of your new favorites!

Kane Brewing Company’s Head High is now on tap here at Pete and Elda’s and if you mention this blog, then we’ll give you a dollar off of your first pint. Come on down to give it a try, today!
